3.7.3 isn't showing blog posts on homepage

Hi,
Just set up a new site (no plugins yet) and am using 3.7.3. Sidebars intact, but it doesn't show any blog posts, only when I click on a post link from sidebar.
I get this error: Not Found
Sorry, but you are looking for something that isn't here.

I'm not seeing any fixes for this in the bugs section

looks ok to me - i see 8 or so posts
