More Analytics Issues

I have searched and read every thread here regarding Google Analytics.

WP 2.9.2

I posted the
Code:

<script></script>
first to Add HTML/CSS - HTML Inserts: Header

then to header.php before </head> as I usually would.

Then I saw to paste into HTML Inserts: Body Bottom so I tried that.

Then I tried pasting it directly into footer.php above </body>

Then I made analytics.php with the <script></script> in it and pasted
Code:

<?php include_once("analytics.php") ?>
in the header, footer, and along the various points of Add HTML/CSS.

Each change I make I delete once it does not verify.

Then I installed Google Analyticator plugin, did not work to verify. Uninstalled.
Then I installed All In One Webmaster plugin, did not work to verify. Uninstalled.

Then I uninstalled all plugins and went through the initial series of pasting the codes into various positions previously mentioned, being sure it is not duplicated.

Show Source shows the code in header and footer when placed there respectively, nothing is working to Verify on the Google Analytics site. I am at my wits end wondering if it's Analytics or if there is a conflict with my javascript.

Thanks in advance for any help,
Hydroguy

hmm, I posted <script></script> to both the header and footer in Add HTML and it didn't work

I then checked the setting on another site to see if it was Analytics and it was working.

Going back to my hydroguyarchives.com profile in Analytics Lo and Behold! it was verified.

I am not sure why, maybe my browser cache or something.
