[SOLVED] After being hacked old site restored, now problems with latest theme

Hi,

Recently our site has been hacked. The host removed all suspicious stuff, viruses etc. After that they restored a back-up which is based on Atahualpa 3.4.9. So I installed the latest version(3.7.10), but all settings have disappeared. In the beginning(years ago) I have seen this before, but now I do not know how to fix this.

Are there any tips to do a proper up-date?

Thanks,

André

when they did the restore to 3.4.9, did the site display properly?
What version of WP did they restore you back to?

the newest version of atalualpa needs a newer version of WP.

and didn't you have your own backups?? You do them on a regular basis don't you?

:o no regular backups.....

They installed the latest WP again. And with the Atahualpa version 3.4.9, it looks oké

What is the URL?
If you send me a pm with an admin id/pw I'll poke around

can you manually inatall 3.7.10 following the instructions here folow the manual upgrade instructions.

Also do you have access to phpMyAdmin and are you comfortable with it?

Handre Feb 1, 2013 08:01 AM

I can manually install, activate the them, but get a blank screen with text and header.
The rest of the settings is gone.

Where do I find php myadmin?

juggledad Feb 1, 2013 08:09 AM

From you question, I'm going to guess you never used it. phpMyAdmin is generally supplied by the host in the cPanel.

also I thought they restored to 3.4.9?? you have 3.4.5.1 on the site??

Handre Feb 1, 2013 08:21 AM

aha, via the cpanel. Yes, I have used it in the past.
I will try that this evening.
Via this computer I do not have access to cpanel.

André

juggledad Feb 1, 2013 08:34 AM

can you install 3.4.9 because we can export the settings fron there and take a look at them

Handre Feb 1, 2013 08:38 AM

Done that, but facing the same problem.

ok, this is good. I went into your site and exported the settings. I then imported them into a 3.4.9 site I have. I switched to 3.7.10 and it looks good so I exported them.

activate 3.7.10 and import the attached settings and see if it looks ok to you.

Thanks Juggledad,

Now I can continue.
