Update failed, now, can I revert?!

Hi folks,

have a bit of a problem with a site I set up for some friends of mine. I should state at the outset that I have NO coding knowledge or experience. I'm pretty much a total greenhorn at all of this.
So, here's what happened. We set it all up on Wordpress 3.2.1, and I can't remember what version of Atathualpa it was (but the site was built about 2 years ago). I showed them how to use it and basically handed it over.
Yesterday they contacted me to say they have tried to update Atahualpa (?! why ?!) and that it had failed and now there were no pages showing although all the content was still visible in the dashboard. I logged in and discovered that we can't update Wordpress on that server and so (I assume) the install of the most recent version of Atahualpa is failing. Not Good.

My questions are:
1. Is it possible to somehow salvage the extensive customisations I had done within ATO?
2. Is it possible to install an older version of Atathualpa?
3. Does anybody have any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance for any advice you guys can give.

The site is at http://isscl.com

The atahualpa settings are stored in the database so as long as you have a database backup you are fine.

Can you get into the backend? If so change the permalinks to the default, save, then back to what you currently have

Thanks for getting back to me juggledad.
I don't have a back up, as I had handed the site over 2 years ago. They don't have one either.
(For future reference, how do I do that?)
So, I guess I'll have to try to get MySQL5.0 on my server, then upgrade Wordpress so I can download the latest Atahualpa and then rebuild?

1) use phpmyadmin and export the database
2) what version of mysql are you currently on?
3) can you get into the wordpress backend?

Hi again.
so,

1) I'm not sure I know how to do that but I'll figure it out if I can.
2) I'm on MySQL 4.1 but I've asked my hosting company if it's possible to update this to 5.0 or later.
3) Yes, no problem getting into the Wordpress backend.

I'm going to have a go at number 1 on your list now...

Wordpress 3,2+ requires MySql version 5.0 or higher and PHP 5.2.4 or greater

So, then I have to ask, is it possible to download/install an older version of Atahualpa to go with my older version of Wordpress?

sure, you can download the older versions, but if you upgrade to WP 3.2.1 who knows what the state of your database is, though if you can get into the back end, it would seem you are ok...

old versions at http://themes.svn.wordpress.org/atahualpa/
