Unable to display any widgets on sidebar.
Hello good people.
I've tried everything I can think of, but am unable to get any type of widget to display on any side bar. Interesting in that I never had trouble in the past. I'm sure there's nothing to it, but a real head scratch-er. Thanks a lot, Joe. |
what version of Atahualpa and WP?
What is your url? If you swap to twenty-eleven can you add widgets it's sidebar? |
Hi Juggledad--
thanks a lot for the quick reply. I think I'm up to date. Theme: Atahualpa 3.7.1 WP: version 3.2.1 the url is http://usdahomeloanprogram.com (still a WIP :)) I'm not sure I understand what you mean by, "If you swap to twenty-eleven can you add widgets it's sidebar?" Thanks again. |
As you probably know, you can have multiple themes. Twenty ten and Twenty-eleven are the default themes Wordpress installs with. So go to the dashboard->appearances->themes and activate one of them, then try to add a widget to its sidebar. Once you test it, you can swap back to Atahualpa.
I'm wondering if it is a install or environmental issue. You could be running out of memory. Who is your host? |
Which sidebar are you trying to put widgets in. The only one I see enabled is the right one.
Swapping to the Twenty Eleven theme means going to Appearance>Themes and activating the Twenty Eleven theme to test if you can add widget with that theme activated. |
Interesting. I swapped to the Twenty Eleven theme and had the same problem.
Although now that I switched back to Atahualpa the "recent posts" are displayed on the right. I use bluehost.com for my hosting. I've tried all the side bar positions, but only have the right sidebar activated at the moment. Might I just be out of luck? |
I would look at the hosts error log to see if there are any messages. You might try contacting the hosts support staff too
