Atahualpa child themes + Thesis look-a-like

Flynn and Juggledad,

I want to publish my Thesis look-a-like theme (see http://forum.bytesforall.com/showthread.php?t=5767 ) to Wordpress.org theme directory since the process of applying database extracts and/or import/export of settings is pretty clunky for your average "vanilla" user.

1) Is this something that you guys would support, or at least not object to (attribution given of course -- no, "gushing" is more accurate)

2) The need for this arises simply out of the failure of Atahualpa to support child themes and/or easy copy of settings from one site to another. Any plans for working on this?

3) I would need to look into and modify the sections of atahualpa that initialize the database upon install. Any help on this appreciated.

Thanks!

Guys,
I have reconsidered... I think it's crazy to make an entirely new theme just for the sake of a few settings. What's needed is a settings import/export that anyone can use (ie. someone who has never heard about "mysql"). (Even better would be a child theme function with preview, but import/export would do for now). I am not a programmer myself (and would not have time anyway). How about putting this requirement out to the community?

I've already got the export coded and working. I just need the time to code the import. I've been so buzy answering questions (and my life outside of Atahualpa) that I haven't had time to finish it, but soon....

Awesome! It will make life better for a lot of folks...
