disable virtual files and use FTP

hi all,
is there a way to allow code changes (all .php, .css files) being uploaded thru FTP (physical files) instead of using virtual hierarchy?

As far as I know, most of wordpress themes works using FTP except this one :(

In my humble opinion, virtual files are interesting for those who don't have so idea about code, but developers prefer FTP as usual, isn't it?

Thanks!!!

No, that is the way this theme works.

According to the documentation, if you create a physical template file, it will be selected before an identical virtual template:
Quote:

Only if the WP Template Hierarchy fails to find a matching, physically existing template file in the theme's main directory and is about to use the "template of last resort" index.php then the Montezuma virtual file system takes over. This allows you to keep working with the traditional approach of editing real files on your desktop computer and uploading them to your WordPress installation through FTP.
This does not apply to the CSS files, though.

Yes that is true but why do it. First time you upgrade and forget to have a backed up copy of the files you're in trouble
