installation error-Atahualpa
 

I installed Atahualpa by downloading the zip files, unzipping it into a new folder on my computer, creating an Atahualpa folder in wp-content/themes and FTP'ing all the 320 files to that folder. I noticed that the readme files says that when I unzip there will be subdirectories, but there aren't, just 320 files.

The result is line after line of code like the following on my home page:

The only way to get back to my admin panel is to delete the Atahualpa folder. Can anyone help me install Atahualpa?

If it makes a difference, I have my blog address (index.php & .htaccess) in one directory and the rest of the Word Press files in a sub-directory. I have no problem with the default theme (that I've modified slightly); everything works well, and when I delete the Atahualpa folder, it comes back. WHat are the permissions for the Atahualpa folder?

In another thread, you asked me for version numbers of WordPress, Atahualpa, & PHP, and to find them, I had to delete the Atahualpa folder, so I don't know. But I didn't change the permission level.

The Classic folder is 755.

Hmm I think your unzip is messing up and not creating the folders - there may be an option.

I am just building a site for the first time and I know the content is important, but I am itching to build the appearance and Atahualpa theme was recommended for me to use. After I download it onto my computer, I have no idea what to do next. All I see is a bunch of folders. Can anyone help the new girl:)

It's a ZIP file. I moved mine to a new folder that I created for it, but you don't have to. First unzip it, if you haven't already done so. You'll see an Atahualpa folder with subfolders. I upload files to my Web server using an FTP program. If you do the same, or use the File Management feature of your Web host, upload the entire Atahualpa folder (and the subfolders and their contents will follow along) to your wordpress/wp-content/themes folder.

Then, go to your blog's Dashboard, which is http://www.[your domain name]/wordpress/wp-admin/index.php and go to Appearance> Themes on the left. You'll see Atahualpa there. Click its Activate link and you should be set! Of course, then you have to configure Atahualpa, which can take a while. Under Appearance, click Atahualpa Theme Options. Good luck!
