Suddenly only 1 post appears on main blog and it is not the most recent post

Hello,

So, with no other changes having been made to this otherwise very stable blog last weeks post

http://www.fetchlocalcustomers.com/b...mmerce-charge/

has taken over the main blog posting page. Normally this page:
http://www.fetchlocalcustomers.com/blog

would display the 10 most recent posts but it automatically displays the aforementioned post only.

If I "trash" this post the main blog page gives me "page missing" error.

My most recent post:

http://www.fetchlocalcustomers.com/b...the-superbowl/

Displays just fine if you go to its category.

Please help!

I have tried everything I can think of and I am stumped!

See if you have a caching plugin - if so, disable it and flush the cache. Then set your permalinks back to the default and test, then swap back to what you have now (make sure you note what you currently have)

Thanks Juggledad. I had been using WP-Cache but clearing the cache and de-activating it was the first thing I tried.

Why would the permalink structure be causing this issue? Sorry, but I'm not a wordpress architecture expert. I guess I'm reluctant to rename all of my indexed pages if I don't have too.

It's just one of the things I suggest incase something got messed up in the .htaccess file. Going to the default and back would rewrite the rules there and clean up that as a possible culprit. After all, something is changing 'http://www.fetchlocalcustomers.com/blog' to 'http://www.fetchlocalcustomers.com/blog/01/local-business-marketing/mcdonalds-and-starbucks-lead-the-mobile-commerce-charge/' and the .htaccess is the first place I'd suspect.

Hey Juggledad,

Well I tried the recommended permalink switch and the problem persisted. I have since restored the previous permalink structure.

What would be the next thing on your list of culprits to try?

Thanks!

What happens if you change that post to draft mode?

If the blog goes back to normal, then I would suspect it has to do with the post and I would add a new post and put pieces of it in until it breaks
