[SOLVED] Does 3.7.1 need patches for punctuation?

Hello,

I was thinking of using the patches for 3.6.7 to fix the punctuation problem (no spaces after punc), but instead I decided it would be easier to manually install the new 3.7.1. I followed JuggleDad's instructions on how to manually update. The 3.7.1 is showing in my dashboard as being the current theme, but the Blog still has the punctuation problem of no spaces after punctuation. Would I still use the 3.6.7 patches to get rid of this problem? I wouldn't think so, since these are two different versions.

Also, I'm using version 3.1.4 of Wordpress. Would that matter? I'm hoping I don't have to do anymore updates....they always seem to complicate things on my simple (very simple) blog.

Thanks :)

There are no patches for 3.7.1 as of today (October 15, 2011)

What is the URL showing the issue so I can take a look

P.s. Patches are version specific

Thank you.

If 3.6.7 had these issues, wouldn't the newer version have taken care of them? I thought that was the point of new versions... ;)

It still looks like you have 3.6.7 active. Try switching to Twenty Eleven and then back to 3.7.1. The patches are all included in 3.7.1.

I would also recommend updating to 3.2.1 for security reasons if nothing else. It's good to keep WordPress updated. As always take a backup first.

Thank you, that worked!

I just switched and then switched back and now it's working.

I just read the instructions on how to backup Wordpress....I think I'm going to let our tech do that, it seems above my head at this point.
