I need a new header solution

Hello All,

A couple of years ago before the big Flash problem started, I found the Dynamic Headers plugin that would work in Atahualpa allowing you to have images or swf animations in your header. Now that Flash isn't being supported across all displays & browsers, I need a new solution.

I'm designing animations in Adobe Edge Animate now, and converting some Flash animations for compatibility across all displays. Now I'm faced with a decision for the best solution to display Adobe Edge Animate oam files in an Atahualpa 3.7.11 header area below the first page menu.

There is a plugin "Edge Suite" that works great in the body, sidebars, footer, and absolute top widget areas using a simple shortcode, but my development issue is how to have an Edge animation in the header on the first page (like the swf that's there now), and static images in the header on other pages... The site I'm redesigning is at http://smetals.com

Does anyone have a recommendation that would work and wouldn't break on theme upgrades?

New development, getting closer. I have the Edge animation working correctly on my local site in a WAMP development environment under the menu 1 bar now. Now the challenge is to display either a different image or animation on every other page but the static home page...

If you can use a shortcode just create a widget area for the images and animation and put a shortcode aware widget in the widget area and then restrict display to various pages with a plugin like display widgets.
