TM (trademark) is not posting, a ⁜ symbol replaces code
 

I have hard coded - &#8482 which is the hex code for TM or Trademark into the post. In a h2 header the hex code works fine.
In the regular post font, when posting, WP3 replaces the hex code with ⁜ . I am left with having to edit in the special TM character, which works, but takes time.
I am confused why this occurs.

That code works fine for me in a post with WP 3.1.1
