[SOLVED] Getting a blank header image...sometinmes, after installing 3.7.17
Here is one site: http://bellamylearningcentre.com where the header does not load. It will occasionally if I refresh. But If I right click the white space and ask to view the image, it tells me "The image "http://bellamylearningcentre.com/wp-content/ata-images/header/bellamy-learning.jpgLCK" cannot be displayed because it contains errors.
I re did the graphic, called it something else and uploaded and removed the old one. Same problem. i can find nothing on .jpgLCK but if I look at the image on the sever, the extension is .jpg only |
@SharonJ - Where do you put your images?
Do you use DreamWeaver? have you looked at the folder the image is in to see if there is a file there with LCK? Atahualpa never uses the letters 'lck' in any of the code, but a google search gets a hit that that could be a dreamweaver lock file. |
The images are in ata-images/header.
The files when I look at FTP (which is all I used Dreamweaver for these days) are plain .jpg http://bellamylearningcentre.com/screenshot2.jpg All I can find for LCK are Adobe references. I will try re-uploading the file using Core-FTP and see if that makes any difference. Can you send me the link that you found? |
OK, you were right. I found this:
"I think that's the problem. Dreamweaver is a site-based application. It keeps a site cache in the user's configuration folder. Editing the same site on different machines is likely to confuse the cache. You could try turning off the cache in the site definition (click the Advanced tab in the Site Definition dialog box, and deselect Enable cache in the Local Info category)." When I opened the folder in Core-FTP, I discovered two files, one that Dreamweaver did not see. bellamy-learning.jpg and bellamylearning.jpgLCK Which is the reason that the header would show on some pages and not on others, and would reload on refresh. I have never had this problem before. Should we wait to upgrade to the new Atahualpa until the issues above have been resolved? |
Sharon, there must be a file in the wp-content/ata-images/header folder called 'bellamy-learning.jpg.LCK' To prove it if you enter
HTML Code:
http://bellamylearningcentre.com/wp-content/ata-images/header/bellamy-learning.jpg.LCK HTML Code:
http://bellamylearningcentre.com/wp-content/ata-images/header/bellamy-learning.jpg.FFF I googled 'wordpress lck' and about the seventh one down was point that this is a lockfile and DreamWeaver uses them. I'm moving these to a new thread since it is not the new version of the theme. |
You are right, Juggledad. Interestingly, Dreamweaver could not see that file, but Core-FTP could. I removed it and all is well.
I also deselected Enable cache in the Local Info category in DW, so that it would not happen again. |
