blockquote tags removed from posts
blockquotes are working as expected for pages, but not for posts.
blockquote tags are being removed from the html for posts. I disabled HTML correction (Settings > Writing > WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically). Post previews look fine...but the published posts are not matching the previews. Here's a page that is working: http://java.javafact.com/?page_id=24 Here's the post that is not working (blockquote tags removed by the theme): http://java.javafact.com/?cat=3 Is this a theme bug, or is this something I can correct? Appreciate your suggestions... (I'm running version 3.2) |
Looks like your trying to use blockquotes for code? Maybe Wordpress is removing something there. Please try with the default theme and see it works there. Also, consider using <pre>...</pre> tags for code, or even install the WP Syntax plugin, it works well with Atahualpa

Thanks for your reply Flynn.
I've tried multiple changes to try to make the post work. If you go to the post and you click on "Leave a Comment", you see the post again but this time it DOES include the blockquote tags. So we have the same post. One web page is missing the blockquote tags and the other web page is perfect. Here's the web page that works: http://java.javafact.com/?p=3#comments Appreciate your suggestions... You created a very nice theme! |
On second thought, it's probably because you've set "Post or Excerpts" -> "Posts or Excerpts on Category Pages" to "Excerpts".
Wordpress will remove all formatting in excerpts, set to full posts to avoid that, or use the "More Tag", or use a plugin such as http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/advanced-excerpt/ |
Switching from 'excerpt' to 'full post' corrected the problem.
Thanks for your help... Octavio |
