Need help with static header on home page/no header on other pages

I tried the advice on the thread below, but it makes the header disappear on all the pages including my home page. Do I have to do something to indicate which page is home?

What I use for that is the Dynamic Headers plugin. Makes it pretty simple especially with Atahualpa as you can just paste the php code as shown below in the "Configure Header Area" in place of the %image.
