Wow, this theme sure is great. I've only been playing with it for a few days but see lots of potential. Here's my new blog update http://cowichanvalleyphotos.com/

Thanks Flynn

Cheers

KleMC Apr 17, 2009 04:10 PM

WOW, I am totally amazed by this theme!!! (Flynn, you just received a donation!) I thought it was time for a change and updated to the latest WP version and treated myself with Atahualpa.

The config variations are nearly perfect and I am very happy with how the site looks like. (http://blog.hoegenauer.net/)

The only minor feature request I would have at the moment is a more customisable BFA subscribe widget. eg I would prefer not to show the comments feed as well as the email box. I am sure that this is all possible going into the .php which is not my thing (well, having said that I at least changed the icons to the smaller ones like in the header).

Again, many thanks for the great works,
KleMC

Hello everyone!

Thanks to the BFA staff for putting this theme together. I'm switching over a lot of my sites to it. Also we are using it for a very cool company website. I'll post that for you guys to see later today when we go live.

I'm using it on this site, and I'm now working on the "second" revision of changes and modifications to the theme. I love this theme.

Using it in for this, and a bunch more that aren't ready for public viewing.

Thanks for the Theme, and thanks for all the support available in the forums! Donations will be coming your way soon.

Now my homepage is nearly finished for the moment, so I thought it could be interesting for other theme users.

So here it is http://www.frank-hamm-webdesign.de

I hope you like it

Hey I like the look of your blog, how did you move the page tabs below the header?

We just finished the first version of our new company website. It included a company rebranding, and I found the atahualpa wordpress theme to be great. We tried a paid theme first, and it wasn't nearly as flexible as Atahualpa. I did write some custom php (small changes to the theme and plugins), but for the most part the style was modified with CSS tweaks. I would recommend this theme to anyone, especially if they are willing to get their hands dirty with custom CSS.

Here's the site:

I'd like to hear what you guys think!

This theme is absolutely fantastic. I just converted my large photography blog over with no issues at all. Very happy!

The site is www.kevinokephotography.com/wordpress

Comments welcome, would love to hear what you think!

Excellent question: how DID you move the tabs below the header. I would like to do this as well.

Thanks in advance.

Really excellent job - one of the best I've seen - professional, clean, businesslike - am going to steal ideas....

myat May 2, 2009 10:12 AM

Hi,

I switched to this theme after using another great theme for a few months. The previous theme is great but this theme is greater. I was so amazed that such a great theme can be free. And it can be customized to a great extent without knowing much php and css. Thank you for this great theme.

Please see my work using this theme at Today in Myanmar. This is an travel information website about Myanmar (Burma).

kal May 4, 2009 09:02 AM

Wow!

I've tried several themes -- both free and paid. This is by far THE best theme I have ever used! I am using it now on two of my sites:

www.mikerielly.com
www.tigercal.com

I will be moving over at least two more of my sites to Atahualpa soon!

I sent a donation! Keep up the good work!
:)

Mary McAndrew May 7, 2009 01:47 PM

I absolutely love this theme! I haven't seen any other artists here using it, anyone? Here's my site so far, I'm still a newbie.... www.marymcandrew.com It's my fine art, I just love the rotating header, I can put a 'slice' of my paintings across the top.
Next will be importing my blog from Blogger and I need to learn how to control my text and image layout on static pages in the Gallery. I'm open to all advice!!

Topdog,

The insatiably curious would like to know ... how did you move the tabs below your image? I really like this tweak. Great website. Thanks in advance.

juggledad May 8, 2009 04:54 AM

fromtheranks,
if you mean the page tabs, Atahualpa thme Options -> Header -> Configure Header Area, just change the order of the %xxxx and put %pages after %image

Perfect! Thanks! As I newbie I'm having enough "stress" figuring out how to develop my Atahualpa based site locally using IIS 5.1 (my host runs IIS servers only, not Apache) so these tips help ... a LOT! :)

tamogila May 8, 2009 10:28 PM

Just getting started, but I thought I'd toss it in now just in case I forget.

A big hat's off to Flynn with his remarkable Atahualpa theme.
It's almost a disservice to call it simply a "theme"

One word for his achievement: Bravo

In honor of his efforts, I present you my first Atahualpa-child theme:
It's not THAT funny

http://www.skitchart.com/images/uplo...509-172219.jpg

Still a bit of back-end work-in-progress, but cosmetically, just about there. If you have a "funny", please share!

Thanks again Flynn.

Astra Shirahata May 10, 2009 09:13 AM

Is there a list of websites using atahualpha themes?
I am new in using wordpress and hoping to get valuable ideas from those sites.
I recently switched off to this theme and found it amazing!
Many nice-looking free themes out there but just a few of them accompanied by good and friendly support.
I plan to donate some soon.

Thanks Flynn!

I need to do some more tweaking but seems I am done with most of options....

whatsmytruth May 14, 2009 11:48 AM

Hey, jalanbk

How did you get seperate borders around all of your widgets on your left and right sidebars if you don't mind me asking. It's very nice.

swany11 May 15, 2009 06:02 AM

Here you go. Just small tweaks at this point. Let me know what you think. I am not a big fan of our logo/header text. My creative skills are minimal at best. :)

www.brainsquestionmark.com
... Looks good to me but the load time was nearly a minute. Not sure what is going on? The initial background graphic came right up but the rest of the content took nearly a whole minute to load up.

You may need to install a caching plugin or something.

i used tables here--will look at making individual tables with CSS later when i brush myself up with CSS

Once again, Atahualpa has come to the rescue.

This is for a community "event" site for a Motorcycle Cruise-In that happens every summer.

Thanks again for the speed in which Atahualpa allows a rollout.

There's not much 'content' as yet, but room for that has now been established.

Thanks for the tip mate, I installed WP Super Cache, hope that does it.

nxious May 20, 2009 03:21 AM

I'm totally enthousiastic about this theme.
I've created a site for a client of mine using the theme and I never thought I could find such a freedom in the configuration both for the architecture and the design !:)

This is the adress of the site ... www.martinewicki.ch for the pleasure of showing the flexibility of the theme.

Thanks to all the team for this great work that saves me so much time

CoffeeChat May 21, 2009 07:20 PM

I love the Atahualpa theme, check out my website here Coffee Chat, and let me know what you guys think :)

juggledad May 22, 2009 12:27 PM

first thing I would do is change the header image alignment to Top left so the cup won't disappear off the page if you resize the page narrower

Second - I'm confused why YOU have comments on our own posts

CoffeeChat May 22, 2009 01:31 PM

I am changing servers so the site is currently down, but once it is up I'll try messing around with the header and see if it looks any better in the middle..

and for the comments they aren't really comments but ping backs, which show other posts which are linked to the post you are view.. I probably should take them off they don't look to good

thanks for your input.. :)

mmond May 25, 2009 05:31 PM

I thought this might be a good place to post an extension I wrote, because I love and use the Atahualpa theme and it's the only theme I've tested it on. =)

It's called Un Gallery. It embeds a directory tree of photos as a gallery within WordPress. There is no choosing files via a WP admin page or adding files to the WP database or anything. Once configured, the extension just parses the photo file hierarchy including any edits, deletes or additions that are made to it since the last browser refresh.

The files are on github: http://github.com/mmond/ungallery/tree/master

An example installation is available on my site: http://markpreynolds.com/gallery

A few more details:

Imports a directory tree of graphic files and embeds them in WordPress. The main value of Un Gallery is zero management of the photo gallery within WordPress. After configuring Un Gallery, you can upload, move, delete and edit the photo files directly on the server. Un Gallery will pick up all the changes made to the file hierarchy immediately.

* Unlimited depth, breadth, and number of photos in library. Mine has approx 6,000.
* Photo library is managed outside of WordPress, simply update via FTP, SCP, etc. Un Gallery sees changes immediately.
* Set optional banner captions
* Hidden, private galleries
* Thumbnail cache files are added to photo directory for faster page loads
* Support for png, jpg, bmp, mov, avi, mp3, mp4

This script is still beta. Feel free to use it, extend it or contact me with questions.
Much of the script is taken from other published sources and noted inline.

Thanks for the great WP theme and all the support efforts on this site. It helped me debug the gallery formatting.

Do you have any estimate as to when this WP Gallery will be offered as a WP PlugIn?

dougfoot May 25, 2009 11:05 PM

I really like this theme, and have been playing with the many settings with my site http://www.crazytrike.com

Take a look and let me know what you think of it.

Thanks

Joe,

Thanks for your interest. I don't have an immediate ETA on the Un Gallery extension as a plugin. I'm new to WP development and not entirely certain that it will work as a plugin yet.

That was the original goal though, so I'm looking at it and will follow up when I have better info.

Best,
