[SOLVED] Issue regarding blog post footers

1 Attachment(s)
I have been creating a website locally using xampp server, therefore cannot provide a link to illustrate my problem, so I hope I can explain it properly. I installed this some time ago, but have only worked on it sporadically up to now. I have WP 2.8.6 and Atahualpa 3.4.4 on Windows XP Pro.

I wanted to create a static home page and a separate blog page for posts, which I managed to do by following instructions on the WP forum. So far I now have Home, About and Blog pages. I have gone through all the settings and suggestions on this forum regarding settings for post footers for multi-post pages, but I still cannot get the post footers to appear below the sample posts I've made on the blog page. When I view the post as I'm creating it, I can see the footers, but when I publish the post they are not there on the actual page.

Post/Page Info Items>Footer: Multi Post Pages has the default text still there. I have not made any changes to any files, as far as I can recall in the months I've been playing with this website.

You can see the two example posts I made on the blog page in the image below, with no footer information present.

Edit: When I click on the post title, the next page, that contains just the actual single post, has the footer and comment box. Is the layout on the main blog page where all the posts are listed (with no footer, etc) normal?

First off I suggest you upgrade to WP 2.9.2 and Atahualpa 3.5.1

Second, when you say you made a static page by following the instructions on the WP forum, did you creat a page then go to dashboard->reading->Front page displays and point at your page you made? or did you do something different?

as for footers, what have you got set for all the options at ATO->Edit POST/PAGE INFO ITEMS?

Juggledad, thank you for your reply.

Yes, I created the static page as you mentioned, selecting that as the front page to point to in the Reading section, and the new blog page I created as the page for posts.

In the ATO>Edit POST/PAGE INFO ITEMS - FOOTER: Homepage is blank. FOOTER: Multi Post Pages has the default text in the box. FOOTER: Single Post Pages has the default text (and when I activated the option to have footers on static pages, the footers and a comment box appeared on the home page, which is my only static page so far). FOOTER: "Page" Pages is blank, which is the default. I have not changed any of these entries, although I now notice that the FOOTER: Homepage has a default of some code added, whereas mine is blank. Although my problem is not to do with the Homepage, as I don't want footers on that page, this being a static info page.

When I created my new Home page and Blog page, I had to disable the default Home tab from the menu bar, as I ended up with two Home navigation tabs.

Edit: I just had a brainwave following my statement that the FOOTER: Homepage text box was blank, but the default was to contain a certain code. I added the default code and I now have footers below the post on the blog page! Even though this is a newly-created blog page and it is not the Homepage!!
