I also have a next/previous question and have not found answers in the posts.

After adjusting right margin such that previous (div class "newer") is closer to post content, the next/previous links are no longer on the same horizontal line. I know having nav/previous links closer and also being on same horizontal line are not mutually exclusive. However, am no sure where/what to adjust.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

it's caused by the css insert you have 'div.newer{margin-right:200px}' and the CSS you specified at
ATO->Style POSTS & PAGES->POST Container 'display:block; margin:0 0 30px 0; width:85%'
the width:85% leaves that gap to the right of the page which is why you put in the CSS insert and they work againse each other.

Remove the width:85% and your CSS insert and see how it looks
