Captions Not Displaying In Gallery

Relatively new to Montezuma but so far I'm absolutely loving it. Just rolled out a brand new site using it at http://www.killthecan.org/

My question is around the gallery feature. I do a ton of photo sharing for my members and like to caption the photos. It appears that the standard gallery functionality via WordPress (no gallery plugin installed) does not support captioning photos in either the grid view OR when you click on the thumbail to get a larger view.

See http://www.killthecan.org/about-us/b...nd-meet-82012/ as an example. I've verified that all photos in that grid do in fact have alt tags, titles & captions.

Any thoughts on getting the captions to show up both on the grid view as well as on the photo itself would be greatly appreciated.

Would also like to enable commenting on individual images - that seems to be turned off as well.

Any help on this issue would be helpful... still has me stumped.

Captions currently not displayed on gallery page, only on single image pages. Not sure about comments on images.

Galleries are a wordpress feature not a theme function - ie wordpress builds them the theme does not. You might want to look at some gallery plugins to see if you can find one that will display the captions

Comments are associated with posts/pages. Images are 'content' included in a post or page. To have a comment on an image would take WordPress being changed.

So, here's a question. If you styled a page/post template so that it only included an image and a comment option, could that post/page then be included in another post using an iframe? If so, would that accomplish enough of what the user wants is seeking?

Jerry, why don't you try it and report back.

That's what I thought... but that doesn't seem to be the case with Montezuma out of the box.

For example, on this page: http://www.killthecan.org/about-us/b...nd-meet-82012/

This is a standard WP gallery page (no gallery plugins). All images have alt, description, & title filled out. When I click on the first image (http://www.killthecan.org/about-us/b...012/3tins-bbj/) I get a lightbox effect image with a larger version of the image. However, I'm NOT seeing the name / caption of the image "3tins-bbj".

Am I just missing a setting somewhere? #confused

Currently, Montezuma will only display captions on single images not galleries. I will add an 'Request For Enhancement' (RFE) for this feature.

I am.

What confuses me is that this is a theme specific issue that no one seems to have an answer for.

What I'm looking for is the ability to have the picture's caption show up in the grid, and under the photo when the photo is clicked on such as on this site:

http://blog.killthecan.org/2012/05/a...st-winner-yep/

That page is a standard WordPress gallery, with Jetpack turned on. (Jetpack is only affecting things once you click on the image).

It appears that Jetpack galleries won't work with Montezuma, so that's not an issue...

Here's another potential example of what I'm looking for:

http://www.406northlane.com/blog/201...r-broil-grill/

This gallery has images linked to the attachment page - this would be sufficient as well. Is THIS possible in Montezuma?

Nice. It looks like the link pages for the images take comments, too. Maybe you could contact the webmasters and find out how they did it. Please post what you find out.

That's actually another one of my sites...

The theme was built using Artisteer. That particular gallery is just linked to the attachment page (which is where you're seeing the commenting / sharing feature)

On this page: http://www.killthecan.org/about-us/b...lanta-ga-meet/ I've got the setting set the same way:

http://awesomescreenshot.com/0481mlfeda

However, Montezuma seems to be overriding my request to link gallery images to the attachment page.
