help with header with logo and changing pictures

Hello,

I am a complete newbie to WP, I have some experience with XHTML and CSS, none with PHP.
I am trying to make a website (static pages), with a header comprising on one corner the logo, on the opposite one a searchbox, language selection and accessibility opptions (in case also rss feeds).
Underneath it an horizontal bar with the main navigation options and underneath it on the left a column with all the navigation options and on the right an area with changing images.
Very much like what you can see in this site http://www.cascc.eu/index.php
Is it possible to get close to this with the Atahualpa theme?
Any help or suggestion will be greatly welcomed.
Cheers

Yes it's possible but it going to take a bit of knowledge of the theme. You will probably need to add new widget areas and have to use CSS to configure a menu widget as you want etc etc. The good news is you shouldn't need to use and php programming but if you have no experience in WP or modifying themes this will probably take you awhile even with some help.

Thank you for the reply.
I am here to learn :)
I managed to put the logo, title website name and the searchbox on the topmost part as I was planning. I was thinking about some multiple language plugin as well but I am not sure which works best with atahualpa.
Underneath I put the changhing images, to which I added the side opacity (95%) so I have a white area on which I would like to put the navigation links. It's just a workaround since I have to make custom images so they donąt get clipped too much but for now seems like a reasonable solution. Eventually I would like not to recur to this trick but siply have the two areas (links and pictures) as separate entites, not overlapping ones.
Cheers
