Scrolling Image in a Center Widget?

Hi,

I'm actually not sure whether this need to go in footer or in a new widget at the bottom of the center column. I have a client who want a scrolling "widget" to show members of their organization. Very similar to the following site at the bottom. Scrolling Images

I've been reading the following "]post but want to make sure I'm on the right path.

Is this doable and is a new widget the right place to put it? Of course getting it done is another thing but I want to make sure it can be done and I'm thinking in the right place.

Thanks, Sleenie

I would probably go with a new widget area and a plugin.

Thanks Larry. That's kind of what I thought. Been looking a plugins that do a horizontal scroll and they ar limited. I've used one in the past but it only scrolled text which work fairly well.

Have you ever you one you liked? Guess I have some testing to do.

There is this one but it looks like adding pix is a bit convoluted but if you only have to do that once I suppose its not a big deal.

You could use Marquee Plus which I just tested and if you put image code (EG <img src="path_to_image.jpg" />) it will work. You would need to take all your photos and create a short and wide composite which would scroll which is quite similar to the site you posted a link to. You could try putting either the trigger text (<!-- marqueeplus1 -->) or the php code (<?php echo show_marqueeplus1(); ?>) in some places in the theme.

Thanks so much. I had looked at the first one also and even thugh it looked promising it didn't appear that it was being maintained anymore. I will definitely look at Marquee Plus..that was one I missed.

Really appreciate the help!

Here is another plugin to look at that looks quite nice. I have not tested. The free version has there link on the scroller but it only costs $12 to get a version without.
