[SOLVED] CSS not loading anymore ?

Hi guys !

I'm asking, again for your help, since i didn't did much in the other post but it's not about the same thing so i thought it's better for the forum to create another topic...

(my first post is about template and here : http://forum.bytesforall.com/showthread.php?t=21190 )

My new problem is that during the week end i've merged montezuma from local to web.

I've screwd my databases so bad and i've prefered to restart everything "from scratch"...

I've done a fresh installation of wordpress and montezuma, created my fake articles, pages, and everything, online, to help me work.

You can see everything here... there is not much left... Since i can't edit at all the CSS ! I don't know why !

i'm changing the templates without any problems. When i'm adding the css inside the html/php of the templates it's working, but in the montezuma css, nothing is happening !

So i can't really work and advance on this project who's due for december 15th... Serious stuff guys ! ahah

So yeah, you can check my online demo here : http://micheldidier.com/decliic-test/

you'll see that if you are inspecting the elements with firebug, and adding css, nothing is happening... same thing as if i'm editing directly from montezuma options css files...

If you can help me with that, i got two other questions eheh...

How to delete all thoses "icons" who are automaticly added everywhere... ? and the Double Color Titles ?...

Edit : it's not even changing when i'm trying to change the css grid :/ ...

lmilesw Dec 5, 2013 01:39 PM

I am able to change the CSS with Firebug. How to change the double colored titles has been answered before.

Jet9009 Dec 5, 2013 01:51 PM

Yeah, it's working in firebug, but why is this not working in Montezuma ? I can't even change the grid....

It's like the change i'm doing in the montezuma options are not used... and montezuma is still using old files..

About double color titles : I'm not asking to change them, but to simply delete them. I had a look at the montezuma .js and maybe i should delete the jquery lines about span... am i wrong ?

And yeah, another reason why I would love to delete all of this, but like, fully deleting it, is because there is so many things who are loaded in JS, HTML, and CSS who are just useless for my website and pretty heavy to load.

The website will be mostly used in france backcountry where the internet speed is not really really good and people are usualy not updating their browsers... lol.

is the wp-contents/uploads/montezuma folder witable by wordprss? that is where the CSS from the theme options is stored. If that is not writable, then no changes can be stored and you get the default CSS.

what do you mean you didn't get much help? Several people gave you answers and the ball is in your court to follow thru and respond to them!

I'm feeling like there is a latency...a delay... maybe server side ? some of my changes are applying like 2 hours after i've did the change in the montezuma interface... :/

@juggledad No no ! I mean : i didn't work a lot on it, i've seen your answers and i'm really thankfull ! it's just that i didn't had the time to change everything before I screwd everything :/
Sorry for my bad english...

Hi guys,

Still waiting for news from my host,

but, in the mean time, i've found this article :
http://markjaquith.wordpress.com/200...e-immediately/

Maybe one of you got an idea to make it work with montezuma ?
I think we have to change a bit the PHP in the link since it's not the place where is the actual Montezuma CSS but the wordpress default css right ?

juggledad Dec 6, 2013 11:08 AM

you might want to try clearing your browsers cache and see if it works. That's what that article is addressing.

lmilesw Dec 6, 2013 11:39 AM

And looking at your source I see you are running WP Super Cache. You should ALWAYS turn off a caching plugin when developing.

Jet9009 Dec 6, 2013 11:48 AM

Yeah I know about wp super cache i've just turned it on to try something, it's off again.
I've tried to delete my cache and nothing changed, on 3 different browser, and 6 different computers...

I'm looking into montezuma functions.php to dynamicly change the .css file.. like they are saying in the article...

juggledad Dec 6, 2013 12:04 PM

if you send me a PM with an admin ID/PW I'll take a peek

Jet9009 Dec 6, 2013 12:48 PM

In case you can't figure it out, or you don't see any problem... I've continued my searchs... it may be because my host got a CDN...
The host seems to be caching the CSS files...

that's why i've tried to use something like wpsupercache first... to configure this caching...

The server is in France... and i'm in Montréal (exchange student for 4 months).

it may be why i got 2 hours wait until the refresh...

for those of you who may be able to read french ahah :

Jet9009 Dec 6, 2013 01:58 PM

Ok guys.. i think it's solved !

the problem is coming from my host.. I got a root config file on my webserver where i can choose if the environment is commercial or for development.

After having change this parameter, i've waited 2 hours until they refreshed the CDN : everything is working fine now i got an instant update of all the static files (css/html/js/pictures).

Thanks for your help guys, let's hope it was this ! ahah
