[SOLVED] Sidebars on fixed home page

Is it possible to show sidebars on a fixed home page?

I designated a page with some "splash text" as my home page. The moment I do that, my sidebars (on that particular page only) are gone.

It doesn't help the consistent outlook of the site. Can I turn sidebars back on?
I tried using a copy of the main template (index.php). That didn't work.

Appreciate any help and/or suggestions

why don't you just create a normal page and have that your front page (Dashboard->settings->Reading->Front page displays...)

Exactly what I did. Create a normal page. Made that my home page. Selected "static" home page in the settings > Reading section.

That "static" part will not display sidebars, despite selecting a template which is a direct copy of the Main template (index.php)

the page you created, did you just go to dashboard->page->new and create it (not using a template) or did you actually copy index.php and call it myhome.php?

What have you got checked off at ATO->Style & configure SIDEBARS->LEFT sidebar: Display on:

Found the solution.

It's so simple if you just follow the options. In ATO (Atahualpa Theme Options) under "Sidebars & Widgets" there's the "Style & Configure SIDEBARS" page.

There I just checkmarked "Frontpage (*)" for both the left and right sidebar.

Sorry for taking up your time. My bad.:) ;) :o
