can't use private ssl with this theme???
 

Hello,

I love this theme, got it looking how I want (took me a long time), set up wp-commerce, just upgraded to gold cart so I could use my authorize.net account & now my host tells me something in Wordpress isn't allowing my ssl to work properly.
It continues to go write https (secure) but it switches back to http in appearance. (partically encrypted)

there is php code that would need changing for my private ssl to work properly? Is this correct? if so, how can i fix it becasue i can't understand all this code stuff & don't want to switch to a different theme.

so i was grudgingly changing themes & restyling etc. i switched back to Atahualpa because i couldn't stand looking at the others anymore...then the ssl was working on every single page! all the widgets were cleared out of my sidebar so...it appears there was actually a widget that was redirecting my ssl??? not sure, i'll update when i figure it out.

since this section is about ecommerce & atahualpa i thought i should keep posting in case anyone else is trying to accept credit cards on their website. i'm still using wp-ecommerce, gold cart with a private ssl. i actually only need it secured on my checkout page where my customers will need the security for credit cards but haven't found the proper way to apply ssl only to a "page"...

Charane - Having very similar issues 'cept I can't figure them out. Using:
WP 2.8.6
WPEC 3.7.6.1
ATA 3.4.5

I'm getting all sorts of insecure item notices on IE especially. I've tried downloading the HTTPS plugin but that didn't work either. The WPEC forums haven't been much help either.

was it this plugin http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-https/ ?

Has this been resolved? I'm trying to use "Wordpress HTTPS" in order to make one page (checkout) load as SSL ... so far no luck.

Why is such a common need for sites that sell things so complex to set up?

have you set in wp-config.php?
