Wordpress Themes - WP Forum at BFA - changing title's font

hi Flynn, thank you very much for this theme and GREAT GREAT support
i just installed 3.3.2 version on wp 2.7.1

been searching around the forum and also modified the index.php (the first part only, as you mentioned at Modify H1 Headline for SEO)

i can change the size and the color of the headline text, but couldn't change the font

this is what i put on the post/page styling> headline box: text

Code:

font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace;

padding: 0;

margin: 0;

font-size: 1.6em;

color: #CC0000;

also changed the font to
- verdana
- "times" new roman"
- arial
- etc
but nothing happens

*edited= oh, and nothing happens either when i change font-weight: bold; or normal

what went wrong? please advice
