[SOLVED] Links for PDFs?
I'm a newbie to blogs and have been spending DAYS looking at templates and features. And, I have to say pulbicly, I'm very impressed with what I've read about Atahualpa.
The one question I have is: How to I add links for PDF files? Some of my posts/articles will be lengthy and it may be more appropriate for folks to download PDF versions. Is there a way to add a link to a PDF file to a/each post? Thanks in advance. |
Are you asking for automatic creation of PDF files from your posts or just links to existing PDF files? A link to a PDF file would be no different than any other link, i.e. <a href="URL">Link Text</a>

Thanks for your reply. No on the automatic generation (though that is a thought), I have the Adobe suite of tools so will generate them. I just had never seen anyone actually embedding a PDF link so wasn't sure if it was "against the rules" somehonw.

I'm with you ftr!
It almost seems too easy: just upload the pdf somewhere to the www and stick the URL in a plain old link. Anyone who clicks on the link will be offered the "usual" pdf options (open?, save?, etc) which I'm pretty sure are "set" in their browser preferences. The first time I was providing a pdf I figured I'd have to do all sorts of fancy html coding. Jim |
Perfect! Thank you. :)

Hello fromtheranks:
Housekeeping suggestion: "close" this thread = look up to the right, click on "Thread Tools," select "Solved" from the dropdown menu. Jim |
