[SOLVED] How do I make my sidebar look like this?

http://wpstart.start-1.info/wp-conte...2008/12/29.jpg

I LOVE the way this sidebar is set up, but the rest of the theme, not so much at all. How do I get my Atahualpa theme set up like this with the tabbed featured posts & recent comments and two columns underneath?

Thanks.

without some changes to the code - you can't at this point in time
see http://forum.bytesforall.com/showthread.php?t=5000 and

The Section Widget plugin may do what you want with regards to the tabbed posts though.

Seems to be in demand. Maybe in a future version? Would make Atahualpa even more fantastic!!

Not quite sure what site you're referring to. But check out some different widgets. For instance... you can have a featured posts widget listed in the right sidebar, then just below that if you wanted to have to columns of ads you can use the wp-125 or perhaps wp-insert to split a single widget area into 2 columns.

Ahhh, this time I see it. Last time I logged in my internet connection was just poop and the image didn't download.

But I've got some super cool news for you. If you download a plugin which allows you to add php in your sidebars you can use it to load the "new widget area" php command line into any one of your sidebars and you're good to go.

To explain the process a bit more. Let's say you have a right sidebar set to 200px. You add a 200px wide slideshow, then some featured content. Just below that you'd like a 2 column widget area for the archives blah blah on the 100px wide left side and the blogroll on the 100 px wide right side.
  1. So you load the slideshow, and the featured content widgets into the "right sidebar"
  2. then that php executable widget (it's similar to the text widget but lets you add php code).
  3. Next you'll open the php widget and enter a 2 column "new widget area" command line.
  4. Load your home page,
  5. then refresh your widgets admin page and you should see the "new widget areas" you just created.
  6. Load the archives blah blah widgets in the "new widget area 1" (or left new widget area)
  7. and the blogroll blah blah widget in the "new widget area 2" (right side).

So you're basically putting widget areas into widget areas.

Just tried and it worked perfectly.
