Firefox shows 404 Error when accessing pages
To be honest, I have no clue where the problem is: Wordpress or maybe Atahualpa.
My installation: Wordpress 2.7.1 Atahualpa Theme 3.3.2 Permalinks are set to default. Wordpress installation in subdirectory index.php in root (path to wordpress adjusted) Error Description: When I click a pagelink (like ?page_id=5), firefox will not open the page, instead presents my custom 404 Error Page. When I open the same link in a new tab, the page is displayed correctly. It only happens using Firefox (tested with version 3.0.7/3.0.10). Not matter whether Mac or Windows Safari and Internet Explorer do not show this behavior. They work fine. Can anyone help? |
Looks like something permission / user registration based. Do you have a a plugin running related to permissions? The theme and URLs look o.k.
Deactivate plugins one by one to track it down |
after playing around around with so many options, having a look with firebug and tamper data I started to deactivate plugins one by one.
This plugin was responsible for the mess: WP Grins (http://alexking.org/projects/wordpress) I don't blame him, but I hope this pretends others to spend so much time on resolving the strange behavior I ran into. Thanks for your help, Flynn. |
You can also check with the Default theme to see whether it is a combination of theme & plugin. Alex King is an experienced WP developer, I doubt that he'd release a plugin with such an error. It may also be a combination of theme & plugin A & plugin B
