3 post grid for excerpts?

Hi,

I'm trying to create 3 grid wide home page, with only excerpts (including the excerpt image). When the excerpt is clicked the post will be normal. This grid theme could either be on the home page only, or with all excerpt pages.

Could someone help me on how to achieve this? Thanks!
