Hey! I like what you have done and how clean it is. I am not as novice as most, and have been trying to get my page topics below my header as you did, as well as create those drop down menus from the page tab. Can you shed some insight? Great job and your feedback is appreciated.

xxxevilgrinxxx Aug 3, 2009 01:43 PM

thanks, lotusheartsinbloom :)

for the navbar to end up beneath the header, go to the ATO-->style and edit header area and put this in the configure header area:

%image %pages

to get the menu to drop down, you need to make pages and children of pages, this can be done in the page creation area of your WordPress admin, where you can make a page have a parent page. You can also create the order in which the pages will be shown. They should drop down nicely all on their own then

Elaine:)

Here is mine Blogging Resources I am always amazed how versatile this theme is, I am working on more projects and all look different. SY

Not a blog, but Atahualpha used as a CMS, and a very different header - The images below the logo form a horizontal sliding-door menu in place of the default image. Very much a work in progress, but you get the idea here: http://www.highsierradesign.com/test...teravencenter/

I love the sliding header, how have done it? Great work, I am sure it will look perfect when finished, SY

Thanks -- it took quite a bit of experimentation, mostly since I was new to Atahualpa - I know Wordpress very well. I insisted on doing it completely with Atahualpa's customizing features -- I refuse to modify core code in any theme! It's based on the mootools plugins at http://www.phatfusion.net.

In the end, it's pretty easy to do. If there's enough interest, I'll document it and post something under "Header Configuration & Styling".

That would be great if you could do that, SY

OK, I made a stab at it -- see http://forum.bytesforall.com/showthr...1982#post11982 under Header configuration & styling

Hope it's understandable...

Just finished converting another site to Atahualpa. This one was static, but now uses Wordpress as a CMS. I was able to keep the same basic look and feel without editing any code.

I especially like some of the new features like the ability to create widget areas. Thanks, Flynn! I just donated a little more for your work on this.

Would you mind telling me how you put your Sociable links in your Posts FOOTER Box?

BradBrown Aug 14, 2009 02:05 PM

I'm not owenl, but I use Sociable on one of my Atahualpa sites.

Atahualpa is designed to integrate Sociable. Just put %sociable% in the footer where you want it to appear. The instructions are on the ATA->Post Info Items configuration page.

owenl Aug 14, 2009 03:33 PM

Actually I didn't use BradBrown's technique - I just edited the loop in atahualpa - since I have to do that anyway for the two feature boxes at the top I just do a lot of this by hand - of course it means I don't update the theme itself as often because I have more changes to make than most

aTart Aug 16, 2009 10:46 PM

here's mine Love Shack, Baby it's a music blog

Any comments or critiques are very welcome!

And, jfrenaye, I'd love to know how you got the RSS buttons on yours without the email form box. I can't figure that one out so I've left the whole thing off.

Atahualpa Theme Options > Sidebars & Widgets > Style & configure SIDEBARS > LEFT (RIGHT) sidebar: Display on:

Uncheck where it should not display. In your case: Uncheck all.

TwtrCoach Sep 7, 2009 10:48 AM

Thanks!!

Have to look into fix the 3.4.2 version I uploaded. Added a php section I found here for turning of header on pages. I ended up turning of all my headers. Then I noticed that there was options added in there for turning of page headers. So much for trying to rush things a little...

Cheers.. Are

Hello everyone, I'm new with wordpress and I only understand very little about CSS and html language and I found this Atahualpa theme very flexible and fun to tweak with.
I learn lots of thing in this forum too to change certain elements from the basic theme layout.
Hope in the next update I can tweak the design more.
Please visit my site and give some comments, thanks.

MyMealBox -- nice site!! Which plugin are you using for that cool Flickr photo rubiks cube?

mymealbox Sep 11, 2009 06:25 AM

I use Flickr Zoom Badge widget on my site, you can get it in wordpress widget/plug-in download page.

Hi, everyone, I just added a WP blog to my Yahoo website and dinked around with other themes before installing Atahualpa. Wow! The theme options make it much easier to adapt the look and make use of WP features. I am very pleased with it overall, and was happy to donate.

Not much there yet, but coming along, at http://greenehamlet.com

I've found answers to several questions by browsing this forum. Thanks to all! :)

This theme is fantastic and I'm glad to have found it! Many thanks! (donation to come in the future):-)

Please send feedback! (especially the back end stuff since I'm still learning as I go!)

Thanks Again!

I spent months trying to find a nice minimalist theme for my site re-design, and almost had my credit card out to get a Squarespace account when a friend recommended Atahualpa.

Man is it good, so customisable!

Anyway here's my site, took me two days to sort this, and I'm pretty happy with it.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

juandrah Sep 21, 2009 12:52 PM

Minimalist? Try this, hehe!

http://www.pastconflictspresentsolutions.com

The idea was to have the simplest, most uncluttered and minimally structured site possible as a subliminal hook to promote a counseling and mediation business because people in need of that service have someone else trying to impose structure and rules on them they don't want.

I both grossly underutilized and maximized Atahualpa's customization capabilities to do just that, if that makes any sense? ;)

Cristiacus Sep 24, 2009 12:58 PM

I love this excellent theme. The new show under Atahualpa is Levente Egry's Sentimental Piano Concert. Check it out and leave a review. Thx

Launch of a new site

Sorry if I post this to an incorrect topic but didn't find a good place for it. I wanted to let you guys know that I have launched a new site using your theme.

http://datasf.org/showcase/

Additionally, we have two more in the pipeline and they will launch in the coming weeks. One of them especially will be very high profile! ;-) Happily I got permission to keep the Atahualpa footer on the sites so everyone will know the great work you do.

Thanks for the assistance and best wishes for a great weekend!

Greetings from down under,

I've used Atahalpua for my www.ecommercereport.com.au site and am very happy with the result.

It took a while to learn, but it seems to have all the features I need and I'm looking forward to participating here.

The Word Detective

I especially like the fact that you can use just the inner sidebars on single-post pages.

Having the example code in my opinion was Brilliant. Has bailed me out a few times. Thank you to everyone who worked and developed this Theme.

Excellent website, I have allot of questions in regards to how you did some of the activities on your website, BUT, not the key area that I need to address. I need people who register to PAY before having access to restricted areas:) - but you site is the best I have seen so far - have a look at www.seit.ie to see what you think

Whilst that is uploading, may I ask you to look at www.seit.ie and you will see that I want members to pay for registeration prior to them having access to blogs / forums and user group information - if you have any info on this that would be fantastic.

I'm a first-time Wordpress/Atahualpa user, but I had a fair idea of what I wanted my photography site to look like before I chose a template, and Atahualpa fit the bill nicely.

After almost two weeks of learning, customizing, modifying, and moving things around, I can say that it is almost ready to roll. Aarography.com/blog
