IE ruins aligned images in header & center column, & doesn't size nav menu buttons

Can anyone tell me how to get IE to display this page properly. (www.hershnerhunter.com/blog) In IE, there is a gap not seen in other browsers. Also, the nav menu buttons, sized in a css insert, don't size properly in IE. Any ideas?
