Database restored = all settings gone
Hello
Today I had to restore my wordpress database from an sql dump. everything seems fine, but all Atahualpa settings are gone. In the database I see that the field bfa_ata4 is filled with data, but they don't seem to be my own settings. I'm somewhat lost, where my settings are. Anyone an idea ? :) I'm using version 3.6.4. |
How old was the dump
What is the URL What happens if you switch to twenty ten then back |
The dump is from last monday. I'm running daily backups.
Unfortunatly I can't provide you the URL. The server is in our intranet. Sorry, I don't understand "switch to twenty ten then back". Give me more details what to do please. |
switch to another theme and then back to Atahualpa
If Atahualpa was running at the time of the dump and you successfully dumped the entire database, then it should run now. |
ah...tried that already. Didn't help.
this is what I have in the row "bfa_afa4" (on one line, divided it for readability): Code:
INSERT INTO `wp_options` VALUES ('225','0','bfa_ata4','a:266:{s:11:\"use_bfa_seo\"; |
Code:
s:717:\"<?php /* Displayed on SINGLE post pages if activated at ATO -> Next/Previous Navigation: */\r\nbfa_next_previous_post_links(\'Middle\'); |
Code:
s:23:\"post_byline_style_links\"; |
This seems to be correct, the style should be light blue background with blue text and 2 columns, widgets on the right side.
|
what do you get if you go to ato->export/import settings and do an export?
attach the file to a reply |
2 Attachment(s)
looks like I get what the page shows, but not the same as in the database :)

Ok, had the time to do some more testing today.
Did the following Steps:
Is there any way to force the data from the sql dump ? Or do you have a script to convert the data from the field "bfa_ata4" into an export file ? |
How did you do the dump? As you know, the settings are stored in the 'bfa_ata4' row in the wp_option table. Now if you did the sql dump of the entire database, then a restore should be transparent to any application running, because, since everything is gotten from the database, it should be back at it's state when the dump was made.

I'm doing the backup with the plugin "XCloner".
Basically it's running a "mysqldump --quote-names", storing it into {wp-root}/administrator and then building a .tgz from the entire {wp-root} including subdirectoires. Last tuesday I restored this .tgz from monday, including all wordpress files. I also tried to erase the entire database and restore it from the dump, with the same effect. I just don't get, why this should not work. |
Well I would venture to guess that there is an issue with xcloner.
I would do some serious checking on what it dumps and what a mysql export gives you. |
