Fixed HeaderImage for Home Page & then Rotating Header Images for other pages?

Hi Flynn -

LOVE LOVE LOVE Atahualpa theme!

Quick question - is it possible to have a fixed header image for the home page and then rotating images for the other pages? Specifically, this is for www.lajitashousebigbend.com. Of the rotating images in the header, the client wants the house photo to always appear on the home page.

I am thinking it's not possible, since %image references all of the images in the images directory. But thought I would ask!

Thanks for all of your great work! I will be making a contribution as soon as my client makes their next payment.

I'm doing what you are wanting to do as suggested by another user krystyna.

I'm using the plug in "Dynamic Headers", NextGen Gallery, and the image capability in Atahualpa to manage my headers.

I've modified the header.php to use the logic that "Dynamic Header" provides to display it's image, or if I set "Dynamic Header" to none, I use the code for the NextGen Gallery.

I have the instructions here: http://www.crazytrike.com/2009/06/08...ahualpa-howto/

Hello there,

I am also interested in a variation on this - having fixed header images on specific pages and a rotating gallery on the home page.

I'll be looking into the next-gen gallery, but I have a couple of questions if you don't mind since we're here -

1 - Will the next-gen being used for the header work alright with a dynamic resize, or does the theme need to be set at fixed-width?

2 - Have you noticed a significant slowdown of your site(s) after implementing this?

Thanks for your time!

The Next-Gen gallery is a set fixed width and height, mine is 950x200. Initialization of the Next-Gen flash can be sluggish as times, depending on how busy my server is - I self host.

The NextGen will work on a dynamic sized theme. You may have to make a CSS insert. See thread http://forum.bytesforall.com/showthread.php?t=1197

Very cool...

I'm using fixed width, nice to know that I could go dynamic if I wanted.
