Is there anyway for the search box to search the comments on a blog as well? Currently the search box only returns results from the posts themselves - no comments.

Speaking of search too, is there a way to highlight words that match your search?

You should take a look at some plugins. The search function is part of Wordpress not Atahualpa. Do a google search with 'wordpress search plugin'
