[SOLVED] Side by Side Widgets in Sidebar

Is it possible to do side by side widgets in a single sidebar?

I've been able to do side by side areas in the footer but am not having much success doing this.

I would like to setup my sidebar similar to this site:

You can put a two celled widget area in a widget that accepts php. For a complete write up see this thread.
