[SOLVED] Removing default widgets and centering widget content

Just a note to total newbies, it's not obvious how to remove the default widgets in the sidebars. On a fresh Wordpress site, when you go to widgets and look in the sidebars, there aren't any, even though several, including BlogRoll show up!

Well, all you have to do is add a new widget, any widget - can be a blank text widget - to each sidebar. Why this happens: WordPress defaults to these widgets.

I felt dumb, but it wasn't intuitively obvious that I needed to add a widget to remove widgets!

Second note on sidebar widgets. I have two sidebars set up at 200px width on each. When you paste 200 px ads (or whatever) in a widget text box, they kind of hang over the right side.
This is because Atahualpa adds "padding" inside the widget container.

It's easy to fix when you know how: Go to Appearance ->Themes-> Atahualpa Theme Options -> sidebars & widgets -> style widgets -> now look at the code for the "widget container" (in my version its the top box). You will see a line that says "padding: 10px;" I changed the "10" to "3" and got my Amazon search box to center.
You also can change the "10px" to "0px" but I read on this forum that you can't insert negative padding.

You can see how it looks at my site Bongotronics Sincerely hope this helps a frustrated newbie. Atahualpa rules!
