excerpts does not work in 3.5.3
 

Hi

I have two blogs with wordpress 3.0.1.
In the blog A with Atahualpa 3.4.9 , the excerpt works , but in the other blog B with the 3.5.3 version atahualpa , the excerpts does not work.
When I say it does not work , I mean the the french letter «à» does not print, it put an square instead of it.

I'm not a programmer but any idea why the excerpt function does not print correctly the letter «à» in the archives pages or home page.
