Menu Buttons
 

Hi,
I thought that this would be a simple thing... but unless I am just overlooking it... it's not. I have looked through the sites folks have put up on the brag thread and haven't found anyone doing what I want to do either....

Here it is...

On the horiz menu bar I would like to use button images for each tab.

Ideally, one image for active, one for inactive and one for hover ... all background images. (could be one image and the css positioning changing what's seen) I don't need the menu tab page names to have any "action" but obviously their backgrounds would need to be transparent and they would need to center vertically over the background image.

I have used firebug but it seems very "water balloony"... you push it in here and it pokes out unexpectedly there.

Has anyone accomplished this before? Is it just too much manipulation of the css to be worth it?
