Making a wiki template

WP 3 and A3

Hi,
I have installed the wiki plugin and would now like to make a template for new wiki pages, and need to know how.
I think I understand how to add html page code to the code that makes a template file, and I did a test - placed it in the theme folder and made a new page, setting it as a wiki and using the new template.
Clearly it did not function as I had hoped. (sigh)
I would therefore appreciate learning how to do this. Is there (for example) a basic page.php I should use as the foundation?
Your help and advice would be most welcome.
Thanks!

Nobody knows?
What about using the index.php in the template folder? Could I use adapt that?

You can use the index.php as a template, just make sure to change the name from index.php to something else
