Lost excerpts on multi post pages after update
 

Hi,

after update to 3.7.9 multi post pages are broken. While on home page only 1 current/newest post is wanted, on all multi post pages excerpts, coming from tags and categories, are wanted. Since update to 3.7.9 multi post pages are showing only 1 single excerpt instead all of a category or tag line. see at beautyspots.de

how did you have it previously set up? where you using any page templates to accomplish it?

In WP general reading settings "Blog pages show at most" was set to 1 - I have it set now to 10. As you see, I got now 10 posts on Home Page (which is not wanted, only 1) and excerpts on multi post pages are back.

In the Atahualpa settings "configure excerpts"
- Posts or excerpts on HOME page? Full Post
- Show the first X posts on HOME page as full posts? 1

- Posts or excerpts on CATEGORY pages?

- Posts or excerpts on AUTHOR pages? [all:] Only Excerpts

At "Post Thumbnails" settings on menu "Post Thumbnail Width" a warning appears: "Note: Post Thumbnails are only displayed on multi post pages, which have been set to display 'Only Excerpts'. See menu tab 'Configure Excerpts'."

The WP general reading settings "Blog pages show at most" has always controled the number of posts displaed on a multi post page, be it the blog page, a categor page or tag page. The only way around that is if you used a page template to display more or some plugin that displayed more.

what was the previous version of Atahualpa that you were on?
were you using any page templates?

I have reloaded a backup for now and it shows the structure as desired. It was version 3.7.7. I am not sure but guess I use no further template. But, as far as I remember I have done a php line adaption anywhere in the depth. I saw this adaption the other day here in your forum - but sorry, can't remember where I found it or what it was.

Well if you had made a change to a theme file, it would be wiped out during an upgrade because all the theme files would be replaced. This is why if you change a theme file it is important to keep a good record so you can make the change again when you update.
