[SOLVED] Help!! parse error
So I (stupidly) was messing around trying to add an RSS thing at the bottom of my posts in the function-php section and even though I thought I erased everything I put in there, now I'm getting this error
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '}' in /home/suzrock1/public_html/blog/wp-content/themes/atahualpa_o/functions.php on line 674 At first, I couldn't even get to the wp-admin to try to fix it, had my hoster change the file name, so now I can get into my wp-admin, but I have no idea how fix the php in that section. The default WP theme is on my site now, and I'm afraid to activate the Atahualpa theme because I'm worried I'm not going to be able to go in and fix anything. What do I do??? |
You can just download the theme zip file, unzip it, and replace the functions.php you edited with a "clean one".

Ok- that sounds easy enough. I'm going to try it and get back to you. Thanks

okay... maybe not as easy as I thought. when you said 'replace it' did you mean in the cPanel or in the wp-admin area? I tried to activate the theme to get in there to edit it, but it somehow made the same error occur.
I'm sorry- I'm really, really, technologically illiterate. |
You need FTP to the site or use your hosts file manager. You don't do this via the WordPress backend.
|
Okay- it's fixed. Thank you very much. Note to self: don't mess with php when I clearly don't know what I'm doing.... :)
