[SOLVED] Problem with putting links inside posts

I really enjoy using this theme -- it is by far the most customizable of all the WordPress themes I have seen. I am having an issue, though, when I place external links inside my posts. For some reason, it adds my blog's url before the link, so that it won't work. I have to end up removing the link so that the person who clicks it doesn't get a "page not found".

I also use Atahualpa on another blog, but this doesn't happen on that one. I have no idea what I may have done to cause this to happen. Please help!

Thanks.

how are you building the link? Show an example.
Which editor are you using?

I just type up the web site address inside my post, such as: for more information, visit www.childrensproductrecalls.com I tried typing the link in both visual and html views, but no luck. I don't have any problems linking to pages inside my blog, it's only when I want to link to another web site.

I don't do anything other than that or use any special editor. I did notice it started happening when I tried to add a "read more" link to a sticky post.

so are they suppose to be working links? i.e. you can click on it and it will take you to the new page, or just text that happens to make up a web address i.e.
HTML Code:

please go to mydomain.com for more info
vrs
HTML Code:

please go to <a href="http://mydomain.com">mydomain.com</a> for more info

YES - they are supposed to be working links, i.e. you can click on it and it will take you to the new page

Please edit a post in question. Select the HTML editor. Copy the entire post text. Paste it into a reply here after clicking the HTML button just above the box the reply goes in (this will surround your paste with [HTNL][/html] so nothing will be lost)

Here is part of a recent post from my mommy blog about a baby food recall. You can find the entire post as it appears on my blog at http://www.mommymeltingpot.com/2009/...l-health-risk/. I purposely left the link active, even though it doesn't work so you can see what's happening. Below is the text from the html editor.

[caption id="attachment_1104" align="alignleft" width="150" caption="Plum Organics Apple &amp; Carrot Portable Pouches"]<img class="size-full wp-image-1104" title="Plum Organics photo" src="http://www.mommymeltingpot.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/Plum-Organics-photo.jpg" alt="Plum Organics Apple &amp; Carrot Portable Pouches" width="150" height="230" />[/caption]

Emeryvillle, CA - Plum Organics ™ announced today that it is taking the precautionary measure of voluntarily recalling one particular batch of its 4.22oz. Apple &amp; Carrot Portable Pouch baby food with the best by date May 21, 2010 and marked with the following universal product code (UPC) #890180001221 located on the bottom of the package. These pouches are sold individually at Toys-R-Us and Babies-R-Us locations nationally.

<p align="left">Consumers with any questions are asked to call 888-974-3555 between the hours of 8 am – 5 pm PST, or email <a href="mailto:info@plumorganics.com">info@plumorgan ics.com.</a></p>
<p align="left">Plum Organics is the leading premium organic baby food brand in the nation.</p>

Read about this and other recalls on my other blog: <a href="http://www.childrensproductrecalls.com">www.childrensprod uctrecalls.com</a>.

If you look at the bottom of the browser when hovering over the link to www.childrensproductrecalls.com, you'll see that the address for my blog, www.mommymeltingpot.com, appears first in the url, which then results in a page not found error.

You must have some plugin that is making this change. I put that text into a post on my test site and it works just the way you would expect.

What is of interest is that if you look at teh generated source, the entire post is surrounded by
<!-- sphereit start -->
.
.
.
<!-- sphereit end -->
looks like something is playing with your posts

You got me thinking about the plug ins, so I did some poking around and deleted ones that I wasn't using anymore. I also checked the add HTML/CSS inserts and noticed the following was under HTML inserts: Header. I don't know where it came from or what it's for, but after I removed it, the link I posted now works.

<meta name="verify-v1" content="1pbsDxEZooCI/Dnm4kKYZbFrsWtlFailQqnLulw2RHs=" />

Thanks for your help :)
