Designproblem with and without "www" in URL
Greetings,
I have always run my site without "www" in the URL. Today I switched my blog (with Montezuma theme ofcourse) to contain "www.". However this alone changed some things on my site. http://www.skovmose.net/temp/fodbolddommere.jpg Now in the menu the actual page it lit up as if the mouse was held over it. I like that. Good thing. And on the blog page each blog entry will have a big blog of the picture in the top. I don't like that. Bad thing! And also it will only show the picture if I put the mouse over it. And because it's a small picture it only fills a little part of the block. Sooo... how can I keep the menu part of this change but get rid of the picture block? :) Happy new year. :) Martin |
Okay so I actually just found out myself by coinsidence by play around with the URL's.
If I put the WordPress address to http://fodbolddommere.dk/ and the Website address to http://www.fodbolddommere.dk/ then I get it how I want it. With the actual page highlighted in the menu (not just when I hover over it with the mouse) and without the picture frame on the blog page. But then I can't have my site URL as http://fodbolddommere.dk/ (without www.) Oh well I guess I can live with that. At least I havent made that many backlinks yet, so I can fix that. |
I'm new to wordpress, and I'd love to get rid of all the www's in my site, too. To me, it's necessity has long passed. I dropped them from my other sites years ago.
I haven't figured out how to get rid of it yet. Does anybody know how? Thanks. |
I can't help you with the exact menu name as I'm running my WP in Danish.
But it's the same page, where you set page title, tagline, date and time format. General settings or something like that. |

Well I wouldnt call the initial post solved. I just found a workaround, but not quite as I wanted it. :)

My problem was simpler than yours. I wish I could help you, but I'm new to WP and only using it as a CMS for pages. I don't know a thing about posts. Good luck. |
if you don't want the featured image remove teh 'bfa_thumb(...' line from the virtual sub template 'postformat.php'
