[SOLVED] Adding a picture over the posts and not the pages?

Hi. I have a problem solving this and Iīm hoping to get som help from this forum.

At www.ehandelsbutiker.se I am setting up a design. As you can see I've placed the column for posts to the left and over the posts Iīve added an image (the green one). I placed this picture simply by adding the path to the picture above the content for the loop.

The problem is - I only want this picture on the frontpage and just above that column. But that picture will follow you when you navigate on the page.

How can I make this picture to ONLY be above all the posts??

Best regards Gustav Kullander

I really like your design. Excellent use of the theme!

Just make a new widget area and put it in the same place, using the theme options. Then use Widget Logic, a plugin, to limit where it appears.

This is a good time to suggest that everybody who is using widgets learn enough of the Wordpress conditional tags so you can make widgets appear only where you want them. It's very powerful. There is a pretty good tutorial about this at wordpress.org. Just do a search.

Glad that you likeīd the design! Thanks for that and thank you for replying at my question. But I couldnīt really get it to work!

I added a new widget area just like you said and I placed the widget area above the loop. Then in the widget area I added the picture. But the picture still followed on the pages.

I also tried to put the widget area in the loop section, but the same thing happened.

For no misunderstanding, I don't want the Green picture saying "Plantagon Blog" on the top of every page, just on the front page above the entries in the left column (where it is for moment).

Thank you / Gustav

Gustav, did you get the Widget Logic plugin? That is how you limit the widget to just your home page. Widget Logic adds an option to every widget, and that is where you put the conditional tag to restrict where the widget will appear.

In this case, you'll use
Code:

is_home()
in the Widget Logic box at the bottom of the widget in the widget admin of your dashboard.

Guess I was a little bit sloppy when I read your reply ;)

I did NOT download the plugin - and now I lift of my hat, take a bow, and say thank you very much :)
