Possible to set excerpts to first paragraph instead of word count?

I'm using Atahualpa 3.6.7

I went to the configure excerpts options and set it up so that my most recent 3 posts on my homepage are full text and the rest will show as excerpts. But I'd like to have a consistent cut off for the excerpts rather than mid sentence. Is there any way to configure the excerpts to be the first paragraph of every post?

You can use the manual excerpts box which will always show just what is in there for posts set to show excerpts.

There is no way to do this without making some changes to the theme code. Feel free to attempt it if you would like. The code dealing with excerpts is in 'functions.php' just search for 'Custom Excerpts'
