Rotate images doesn't work.

I've tried various configurations but nothing seems to get multiple header images to rotate. Has anyone had luck with this?

juggledad Feb 16, 2012 02:01 PM

Yes it works quite nicely.
Now, What version of Aahualpa and WP?
What is your url?
did you read http://forum.bytesforall.com/showthread.php?t=321

mwooden Feb 17, 2012 11:56 AM

3.6.7/WP is 2.8/url: blog.wsd.net/mwooden

When I stated "won't rotate" I meant without refreshing the page.

works for me, I see the images fading in and out. you are on an old version of WP that HAS several security holes and you should upgrade it.

Hmmm, well it worked once...

Your image #1 is a vastly different size than the other images, try removing it and see what happens.

The rotate does not work for me either.
Just updated to Atahualpa 3.7.6 and after restoring the pictures for the header directory, I have tried with E 9, Firefox 11 in both Windows and Linux, Chromium in both Linux and Windows.
Images are located correctly, as I can see them, and everytime I reload the page, a different (randomly as set) image appears, but the fade in/out does not occur and rotation never happens. :(

What is the URL?
go to ato->export/import settings - export your settings and attach them to a reply (use the paper clip icon)
try disabling all your plugins to see if there is a conflict

well my images rotate with your settings.
Did you disable all the plugins like I asked?

HenryGR Apr 24, 2012 05:34 AM

When you say that the images rotate, did you see them rotating on my site?
As you asked, I disabled all plugins and then images rotate, I am working to figure out which plugins is interfering, but I still wonder why just update Atahualpa, created all that fuss. Any clue?

juggledad Apr 24, 2012 05:42 AM

What version of atahualpa did you update from?
You could try shutting off the fade in/out and see if that worked

I imported your settings into my site to test them

HenryGR Apr 24, 2012 05:52 AM

Really I do not remember the previous version of Atahualpa (is there any log I can look for?) but surely just the 'almost-latest'
Reseting rotate Rotate header images with Javascript? to 0, switching Sort or Shuffle header images?, and reseting Fade in/out header images with Javascript?, did not do the trick. :(

juggledad Apr 24, 2012 06:22 AM

The atahualpa update shouldn't have done anything. Did you recently update any plugins or Wordpress?
Have you isolated the plugin causing the issue?

HenryGR Apr 24, 2012 06:30 AM

Currently using WP 2.2.3 (latest)

OK. Just found the 'offender', it is: Facebook Page Photo Gallery Version 2.0.3 | By Freeman Chari |.
By disabling that plugin, rotation and fade effect work. Why????

Thanks for you support.

juggledad Apr 24, 2012 07:21 AM

I hope you meant wp 3.3.2

Something in the plugin conflicts with the jscript the theme is using. Many times a plugin uses variables in a global fashion instead of a local variable causing effects with other code.

HenryGR Apr 24, 2012 08:20 AM

Oops! :o
Fingers twisted, sorry. Yes, I meant 3.3.2.
As we make extensive use of the FB Page Photo Gallery, I can not disable the plugin and, since I have not access to the source code....
Thanks!

juggledad Apr 24, 2012 08:36 AM

Why don't you have access to the code? It's a plugin right? It must be in the plugin folder...

HenryGR Apr 24, 2012 09:07 AM

Hug! Yes, you are right (that's why you are the master while I am searching for help, Oh well).
Thanks again, I'll try to figure out or at least identify those possible offending variables.
Rgds.

UPDATE

After investigation, I found that the plugin make use of a variable: $name, at lines 80 and 99. Replacing that variable name to $fb_name, solves the problem.

You can now mark this thread as solved.
Thanks.
