[SOLVED] Larger space for css inserts?

Hello all,

Is it possible to have the space that you enter custom css into larger? I think it would be nice to have around 50 lines instead of just one.

Thanks,
Kaspr

That should expand as you add CSS but some plugins interfere with that expansion.

kaspr007 Apr 5, 2010 11:05 AM

Do you know if there is a list of plugin's that effect this?

lmilesw Apr 5, 2010 01:03 PM

I'm not sure if there are any posts here or not. I ran across this once and just used process of elimination. I THINK the hover plugin and perhaps a calendar plugin may have been the culprit. If you post a list of your plugins I may be able to tell you which are the possible problems but it's not to hard to just disable some of them to narrow down which one is responsible.

Here is a list of the plugin's I am using:

Akismet
Fast and Secure Contact Form
Flickr Gallery
NextGEN Gallery
Page Links To
Sidebar Shortcodes
Widget Logic

I deactivated them all and I still only have one line of "css inserts". I am pretty sure I have had this problem since I started using Ata. I just assumed it was a design flaw. Is there anything else we can diagnose?

This is driving me nuts. What browser are you using? Have you tried viewing the css inserts in another browser? In the back of my brain it seems like a possibility of a Firefox extension causing problems and viewing in another browser would eliminate that as the culprit.

kaspr007 Apr 5, 2010 08:18 PM

That's it. I tried it in ie8 and it worked. I just booted firefox in "firefox safe mode" and it still doesn't work. I'm not sure what it is with firefox but it's something.

lmilesw Apr 6, 2010 01:57 AM

Now if you tell me what extensions you have installed maybe it will jog my memory.

kaspr007 Apr 6, 2010 03:51 AM

I booted in safe mode which disables all the extensions. Displaying css inserts still didn't work. Here is a list of my extensions anyway:
adblock plus
all in one gestures
colorzilla
downloadstatus bar
firebug
fireftp
java console
measureit
newtab homepage
webdeveloper
Youtube to mp3

these addons are insalled but disabled:
avg safe search
google gears
java quick starter
Micrsoft .net 1.0

I searched the forums and this is one of those issues that is hard to track down but there is some indication it is a java issue. You might want to reinstall/upgrade the java plugin in Firefox.

kaspr007 Apr 6, 2010 07:54 PM

I tried reinstalling java but no luck. I just copy the entire code into notepad, work on it there, and then paste it into the single line of css inserts. If you find a fix for this in the future, please let me know.

Thanks for the help lmilesw,

Cheers,
Kaspr

What version of Firefox are you running? If you want to PM me with a login for your site I can take a look and see if I get the same results on my Firefox.

I just logged into your site and the CSS inserts field works fine for me with Firefox 3.6.3

kaspr007 Apr 7, 2010 07:26 PM

Thanks lmilesw,

It still doesn't work with my firefox 3.6.3. I even tried uninstalling everything java (using javara) It still doesn't work. No worries though. I'll just keep copying everything over to notepad then paste it back into ata.

Kaspr

One thing I have done a couple of time is run the Firefox profile manager by typing
HTML Code:

firefox.exe -ProfileManager
in the run box and created a new profile. You will have to reinstall your extensions. If you have FEBE installed and have them backed up you can just do an import.

Kaspr, did you dump your Firefox cache fully? Logout of your site's admin. Dump everything in the browser cache. Login again.

Maybe even uninstall and reinstall Firefox, start with no add-ons.

kaspr007 Apr 10, 2010 09:14 AM

I tried dumping cache, uninstalling, reinstalling, removing all addons and nothing worked.

I then created a new profile in firefox and that fixed it. I can now view full screen css inserts. Thanks all for your help.

To help me transfer all my settings from one profile to the other I used febe I only transferred saved passwords, bookmarks and history. I then reinstalled everything else.

Cheers,
Kaspr
