static front page, page title on header, remove content but keep sidebar questions
 

I have my basic website up with a few fixes to take care of. One is I converted my existing theme to Atahualpa and only had a posts page previously.

I added four other pages. I didn't really know what I was doing so didn't notice that WP only showed the four new pages and did not and does not show the Home Page in the Edit Pages setting on Dashboard.

The menu bar showed all Five pages. But when I went to Dashboard and the Settings/Reading location to make one of the static pages my Front Page, then the Home page disappeared from the menu bar and I got two of the static Front Pages in the menu bar.

I am not sure what the problem is.

Also, I would like the Page Title to appear as the title in the Header. Thus it would change depending on what Page I am on. If that is not possible I at least want to change it from being the title on the Home page. Is that possible? I just want the Home page title to be on the menu bar not on the header.

Finally, I want to take items out of the left and right sidebars on all pages except the Home page. When I tried to do that, the sidebars disappeared. I don't want anything to show but I still want the sidebars to remain since the header is designed to sit over the sidebars with the opaque part. What control can do that?
