Arrows in wrong position in second level of nav

Newbie here, please be gentle.

I am using WP3 and ATA353.

I have implemented the WP3 menus. The first level to second is working just fine but the arrows from the second level to the third are overlayed on the end of the text. Is there a fix for this. See attached pic.

Thanks...

Have you implemented the sub-menu bug fix as outlined in the New Versions and updating forum?

Ill-buy-that Aug 31, 2010 02:44 PM

Isn't the fix only if I am not using the new WP3 menus?

There are some underlying code issues for children menu items that MAY have unknown effects. I don't experience what you are seeing when I use the WP Menu with or without the bug fix in. It would just eliminate that as a possibility.

thanks for the suggestion but it did not change when I applied the fix.

I don't know what to tell you. Without seeing some of the settings in your site or at least the site itself I have no way of trying to determine the cause.

It has an "under construction" page if you are not logged in.

Enter: Public/abc123
then go to the site

It works correctly in Firefox but does not work in IE 7 and 8.

Thanks again

It looks like you have something like the following in your CSS somewhere.
HTML Code:

div#menu1 ul.rMenu-ver,  div#menu1 ul.rMenu-ver ul {
width: 20em;
}

Instead of setting the width there try using ATO>Menu (Page or Cat Menu)>Width of sub menu.

Alternatively you could try using px instead of em as I have seen IE be a little finicky with em

I used ATO>Menu (Page or Cat Menu)>Width of sub menu. I have not changed or overridden any of the CSS. Should I override the CSS?

See attached.

Thx again.

My bad... That is supposed to be em. I am reaching for anything. Do you have any menu related CSS in ATO>Add HTML/CSS Inserts>CSS Inserts?

None additional CSS other than what came with the theme by default.

I managed to fix it this morning by setting the "Animate Page Menu Bar" back to "NO"
I guess there is a minor bug in the new Animate code. Not a big deal, I'll just leave it off.
I'd be interested to see if you can replicate the issue by turning the animation on for one of your sites.

Thanks for your help.

Having animation on did not give me any problems. Perhaps a plugin issue?

Ill-buy-that Sep 1, 2010 09:56 AM

Could be a plugin. Thanks for your help Larry.

There is another bug fix I neglected to mention. Did you apply that one as well?
