Want to have menu text different from page header text
 

I would like to have short menu texts with longer text visible when you go to the page. For example, the Menus could read "Who", "What", and "Why" and when you click on those pages you see pages titled

"Who was the murderer?"
"What was the murderer weapon?"
"Why was the victim killed in such a gruesome manner?"

I've seen the useful thread http://forum.bytesforall.com/showthread.php?t=149 and I guess I can use the trick there to remove the menu name from the page and then additionally insert a <h1> tag or something, but I'd really rather not hack the php, surely that makes future upgrades more difficult, right?
